IREDA gains after board OKs Rs 40,000-cr borrowing plan for FY27

The company will borrow funds depending on market conditions and its funding requirements, through taxable bonds, green taxable bonds, sub-ordinated Tier-II Bonds, perpetual debt instruments (PDI) masala bonds, foreign currency bonds , foreign currency bonds, term loan from Banks and financial institutions, and external commercial borrowings. The company may also raise funds though through lines of credit from international agencies, public and private placement of bonds, short-term loans, working capital demand loans and other debt securities. Meanwhile, the board also approved an increase in the borrowing limit for FY 2025-26 from up to Rs 30,800 crore to up to Rs 35,800 crore, through instruments such as taxable bonds, Tier-II bonds, perpetual debt instruments, bank loans, external commercial borrowings and credit lines from multilateral and bilateral agencies. Further, the company said its board is scheduled to meet on 25 March 2026 to consider a proposal for the declaration of an interim dividend for FY 2025'26. IREDA is a 'Navratna' Government of India Enterprise under the administrative control of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). IREDA is a Public Limited Government Company established as a Non-Banking Financial Institution in 1987 engaged in promoting, developing and extending financial assistance for setting up projects relating to new and renewable sources of energy and energy efficiency/conservation. The company 's consolidated net profit rallied 15.42% to Rs 1,381.36 crore on 26.80% increase in total revenue from operations to Rs 6,135.08 crore in Q3 FY26 over Q3 FY25.Powered by Capital Market - Live

Board of IREDA approves enhancement of borrowing plan for FY 2026

The board of Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency at its meeting held on 19 March 2026 has approved the following: 1. Enhancement of Borrowing Plan for FY 2025-26 from up to Rs. 30,800 crore to up to Rs. 35,800 crore. The Borrowing includes fund raising through Taxable Bonds/ Sub-ordinated Tier-II Bonds/Perpetual Debt Instruments (PDI) /Term loan from Banks and FI's /Lines of credit from international agencies (multilateral and bilateral agencies) /Short term loans & WCDL from Bank/ External Commercial Borrowings (ECB). 2. Raising of Resource i.e. Market Borrowing programme upto Rs 40,000 crore for the FY 2026-27 excluding funds raised under Extra Budgetary Resource (EBR). The Borrowing includes fund raising through Taxable Bonds/Green Taxable Bonds/Sub-ordinated Tier-II Bonds/Perpetual Debt Instruments (PDI)/ Green Masala Bonds/ Green Foreign currency bonds (USD/EUR/JPY) / Foreign currency bonds (USD/EUR/JPY)/ Bond ETF/ Other Bond / any other instrument in the nature of Bond/debentures/debt securities/Term loan from Banks and FI's from domestic market/Lines of credit from international agencies/Public & private placement of Tax-free bonds, if allocated by the GoI/Capital Gains Bonds/Commercial Papers/Short term loans/CC/WCDL from Banks/Foreign Currency Non-Resident (FCNR -B) Loans from banks/External Commercial Borrowings (TL & Bonds)/ Foreign currency Borrowings such as term loans, syndicated loans, subordinated loans/Foreign currency Bonds/ Notes such as unsecured/ secured Bonds, perpetual bonds, subordinated bonds/any other instrument for raising foreign currency borrowings / Rupee denominated foreign currency borrowings/any other instrument for mobilization of funds from domestic sources in one or more tranches/series at an appropriate time, depending on market conditions and its funding requirements. IREDA gains as Q3 PAT jumps 15% YoY to Rs 1,381 cr

Profit before tax (PBT) surged 16.59% year on year (YoY) to Rs 1,718.43 crore during the quarter ended 31 December 2025. On a standalone basis, the company's standalone net profit jumped 37.64% to Rs 585 crore on 25.44% increase in total revenue from operations to Rs 2,130 crore in Q3 FY26 over Q3 FY25. Profit before tax (PBT) rallied 33% year on year (YoY) to Rs 717 crore during the quarter ended 31 December 2025. Operating profit stood at Rs 857 crore in Q3 FY26, up 31% as compared with Rs 652 crore in Q3 FY25. The cost of borrowing declined to 7.07% in Q3 FY26, compared to 7.68% in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal. Net interest margin increased 3.74% in Q3 FY26, compared with 3.33% recorded in corresponding quarter last year. Yield on loan assets (Gross) stood at 9.70% as on 31 December 2025, compared with 9.96% as on 31 December 2024. Provision coverage ratio (Stage III) stood at 56.08% as on 31 December 2025, compared with 44.52% as on 30 December 2024. The company's outstanding loan book stood at Rs 87,975 crore as of 31 December 2025, compared with Rs 68,960 crore as of 31 December 2024. Gross non-performing assets (GNPA) rose to Rs 3,297 crore in the December quarter of FY26, from Rs 1,845 crore in the corresponding quarter last year. The gross NPA ratio increased to 3.75% in the December quarter of FY26, compared with 2.68% in the year-ago period. Net non-performing assets (NNPA) rose to Rs 1,448 crore in the December quarter of FY26, from Rs 1,024 crore in the corresponding quarter last year, while the net NPA ratio increased to 1.68% from 1.50% over the same period. IREDA is a 'Navratna' Government of India Enterprise under the administrative control of Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
