Bharat Electronics wins orders of Rs 1,155 cr

Bharat Electronics (BEL) has secured an order worth Rs. 850 crore from Cochin Shipyard (CSL) for the supply of indigenous Multi Function Radar in X Band. This fully indigenous radar designed by DRDO and manufactured by BEL is capable of detecting, acquiring and tracking airborne targets to provide protection to naval ships. Additionally, BEL has secured orders valued at Rs. 305 crore following the last disclosure on 22 August 2024, which include navigational complex system for ships, thermal imagers,communication equipment, fire control system, gun control system, spares, services, etc. With these orders, BEL has now accumulated orders totaling Rs.7,075 crore in the current financial year.Powered by Capital Market - Live

Navratna PSU BEL is a multi-product, multi-technology, multi-Unit conglomerate which designs, manufactures and supplies products and systems in a wide variety of fields including radars, missile systems, military communications, naval systems, electronic warfare & avionics, C4I systems, electro optics, tank electronics & gun/weapon system upgrades, and electronic fuzes in the defence segment. As on 30 June 2024, the Government of India held 51.14% stake in the company. The company reported 46.9% growth in consolidated net profit to Rs 791 crore in Q1 FY25 as against Rs 538.48 crore in Q1 FY24. BHEL Q1 net loss widens YoY to Rs 211 cr

Revenue from operations grew by 9.62% year on year (YoY) to Rs 5,484.92 crore in the quarter ended 30 June 2024. The firm reported a pre-tax loss of Rs 278.99 crore in the June quarter as compared with a pre-tax loss of Rs 276.16 crore reported in Q1 FY24. Total expenses increased 8.60% YoY to Rs 5,874.98 crore in June 2024 quarter. Cost of materials consumed stood at Rs 3,725.08 crore (up 9.43%) while employee benefits expenses were at Rs 1,434.86 crore (up 1.04% YoY) during the period under review. On the segmental front, revenue from power business stood at Rs 4,128.10 crore (up 4.23% YoY) and revenue from industry stood at Rs 1,356.82 crore (down 30.10% YoY) during the period under review.
