STERTOOLS Stock Summary · May 2026
Management framed the quarter as strong fastener progress alongside near‑term profit drag from heavy EV and technology investments. Total income in the fastener segment rose 11.4% YoY to INR 725.9 crore and EBITDA grew 17.1% to INR 111 crore, expanding margin to 15.3% as operating leverage, favorable product mix and a higher share of value‑added products drove improved gross margins and efficiency. The tone was disciplined and investment‑focused: the balance sheet has been strengthened through deleveraging and the company exited FY26 net‑debt‑free, while management prioritizes internal funding for EV and technology build‑out and capacity enhancements. They acknowledged clear tensions — recent non‑steel input volatility and lagged price pass‑through will make Q1 transitional with near‑term margin pressure, and SEM investments are margin‑decretive such that SEM will be non‑profitable in FY27 after earlier profitability, with a target to return in FY28. Production lines for OBC/DC and MCU are scheduled for commissioning through Q2–Q3 FY27, and FY27 capex is guided at approximately INR 75 crore.
