SARDAEN Stock Summary · June 2026
Management presented the quarter as confirmation of a multi‑year shift from a mid‑sized, commodity‑linked metals firm to a diversified energy and mining group, noting revenue roughly doubled to ~INR5,928 crore over FY21–FY26 while consolidated net debt fell to INR215 crore. They emphasized strategic investments in thermal and hydropower plus coal mining that expanded energy capacity nearly fivefold and made energy the primary earnings driver, with thermal output rising sharply and hydropower reaching a record 661 million units; energy now contributes about two‑thirds of consolidated EBITDA. Management framed recent quarter softness as driven by planned outages, maintenance and seasonality rather than demand loss, and underlined progress on growth enablers — legal clearance for the SKS plan, board‑level approval in principle to double SKS to 1,200 MW, mining capacity ramp‑ups to 1.8 mtpa and a board‑approved pellet expansion. They cautioned that equipment lead times and clearance processes will back‑end some capex (near‑term hydro capex ~INR500–700 crore) but expect FY27 revenue and profitability to improve from full‑year plant availability, IPP efficiencies, a 50 MW solar addition by September and mine commissioning ahead of FY28.
