RALLIS Stock Summary · October 2025

In Q2 FY '26, the company faced significant operational challenges due to abnormal rainfall and flooding, which led to substantial crop losses and a 7% decline in revenue to INR 861 crores. Despite these setbacks, profit after tax showed slight resilience, bolstered by a 51% increase in export revenue, highlighting successful market penetration and growth opportunities in international markets. The focus on launching new products and optimizing the seed portfolio aims to enhance margins, although the seed segment struggled with supply chain issues and illegal varieties. Looking ahead, cautious optimism surrounds the rabi season, driven by residual moisture and anticipated increases in herbicide consumption, despite ongoing fertilizer shortages and competitive pressures.

Rallis India gains after Q2 PAT rises 4% YoY to Rs 102 cr

The company attributed the revenue drop to erratic and prolonged rains across several parts of the country, which adversely impacted field activities and spray applications. Profit before tax (PBT) fell 4.19% YoY to Rs 137 crore during the quarter, while EBITDA declined 7.22% YoY to Rs 154 crore in the September 2025 quarter. Rallis India maintained strong cash management, reporting free cash flow of Rs 52 crore, zero external debt, and a healthy closing cash and liquid balance of Rs 454 crore. In Q2, the Crop Care B2B business grew 14% YoY, driven by volume revival in key molecules and better capacity utilization. However, the Crop Protection B2C segment declined 10% YoY due to weather disruptions and erratic rainfall across major markets. The Soil & Plant Health (SPH) business contracted by 20%, impacted by regulatory challenges in the biostimulants category. Exports, however, registered a 33% growth, supported by higher volumes in key molecules. The Seeds business recorded revenue of Rs 101 crore compared to Rs 141 crore in Q2 FY25, primarily due to supply chain constraints, though higher gross margins and effective pricing helped mitigate the impact. On a half-yearly basis, Rallis India's net profit jumped 34.93% to Rs 197 crore, on a 6.25% increase in revenue from operations to Rs 1,818 crore in H1 FY26 compared to H1 FY25. Rallis continued to expand its portfolio with eight new product launches during H1 FY26, including Penflor, Allato, Deeweed, Dodrio, Master Gold, Torris, Vaar and Teer, strengthening its position across herbicides and fungicides. The company also resumed biostimulant sales through in-house production, enhancing its footprint in sustainable crop solutions. Gyanendra Shukla, managing director & CEO, Rallis India, said, Q2 was challenging due to prolonged rains which impacted field activities and product placement. Despite these headwinds, our profitability remained stable, supported by export momentum, prudent cost management, and improved margins in the Seeds business. Our strong balance sheet, zero external debt and healthy cash position underscore our financial discipline and operational resilience. Rallis India is a subsidiary of Tata Chemicals and a part of the US$165 billion Tata Group. It is one of India's leading agroscience companies, with more than 77 years of experience servicing rural markets with the most comprehensive portfolio of products/solutions for Indian farmers. Rallis India spurts after Q1 PAT spikes 98% YoY to Rs 95 cr

The company stated that the revenue growth was led by strong volumes and double-digit growth across business segments. Profit before tax jumped 98.46% year on year (YoY) to Rs 129 crore during the quarter under review. EBITDA advanced 56.25% YoY to Rs 150 crore in the June 2025 quarter, supported by volume-led growth and disciplined fixed cost control. Total expenses rose 16.18% to Rs 840 crore in Q1 FY26 over Q1 FY25. During the quarter, the cost of materials consumed stood at Rs 473 crore (up 27.49% YoY), while other expenses were at Rs 130 crore (down 4.41% YoY). Segment-wise, revenue from crop care rose 16.22% YoY to Rs 652 crore in Q1 FY26. Revenue from seeds rallied 37% YoY to Rs 305 crore during the quarter; the company noted strong performance in its North Cotton seed brand 'Diggaz,' despite challenges in maize and paddy due to supply constraints. Dr. Gyanendra Shukla, managing director & CEO, Rallis India, said, 'Market placement during the first quarter of the year benefited from an early onset of monsoon. Global demand has also started showing signs of recovery in a few of our products. Our revenue for Q1 FY26 was at Rs 957 crore, 22% higher than the Rs 783 crore of Q1 FY25. Profit after Tax (PAT) was Rs 95 crore in Q1 FY 26 as compared to Rs 48 crore in Q1 FY 25. We witnessed double-digit volume-led growth of 13% in Crop Care B2C, 23% in Crop Care B2B, and 38% in the Seeds business. Our Soil & Plant Health business registered growth of 33% in line with our strategy. Our actions on improving product mix and driving cost optimization have also helped in improving PAT margins from 6% in Q1 FY 25 to 10% in Q1 FY 26. We are pleased with the continuing momentum on our North Cotton seeds hybrids, particularly 'Diggaz.' Our working capital management has also been robust, leading to a healthy closing fund balance. We remain cautiously optimistic for the quarter ahead. Key watchouts will be the liquidation of placed products in both Crop Care B2C and Seeds. We expect the export market to witness a gradual recovery during the year. On a long-term basis, customer centricity will remain a key thrust, and we will continue to offer differentiated solutions to solve varying farmer needs. We will further intensify our efforts to build capabilities in manufacturing and digitalization and leverage collaborations and alliances.'
