KIMS edges higher after signing O&M deal with Splendid Hospitals

The agreement is for an initial term of 7 years with an extension for a further period of 3 years on an exclusive basis. According to the terms and conditions under of this agreement, KIMS would run, manage, operate, direct and control the hospital and provide the medical services at the hospital. Splendid Hospitals is in the process of constructing a 150-bed hospital, under the name Splendid Hospital, with a total floor area of 1,60,000 square feet. The hospital has the potential due to the location and demand for hospital services and has the capacity to expand to over 200 beds and will be equipped with the latest medical infrastructure, medical and diagnostic equipment, and multiple operation theatres. The hospital is expected to commence operations in June 2025. To ensure the hospital operates efficiently and effectively, Splendid requires the services of a specialized and professional team of experts. Therefore, under the proposed O&M terms, Splendid intends to engage KIMS as the exclusive operator to manage, run, operate, direct, and control the hospital operations, and to provide or facilitate the provision of the medical services as outlined in the relevant schedule of the agreement. In consideration for the medical services fees and in accordance with the terms of this Agreement, KIMS is entitled to receive revenue fee of 9% (nine percent) of the total net revenue. UAIMS Hospital, started in 2022, is one of the most advanced quaternary care hospitals in the Sangli region in Maharashtra. The hospital currently has installed capacity of 356 beds and has potential to expand to 500+ beds. It has latest medical infrastructure including CT, MRI & 15 state-of-the-art operation theatres and a dedicated mother & child care facility spread across an entire floor. It has also announced launch of a comprehensive day care oncology center adjacent to the hospital. This facility is currently under construction and is expected to be operationalised in 2025. The company has taken over the operations and management of UAIMS Hospital, located in Sangli, Maharashtra. This partnership will also enable KIMS to exercise call option (not an obligation) to acquire majority stake in UAIMS Hospital in the coming years. Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) has taken over the operations and management of UAIMS Hospital, located in Sangli, Maharashtra. This strategic partnership will also enable KIMS to exercise call option (not an obligation) to acquire majority stake in UAIMS Hospital in the coming years. The agreements were signed between Dr. Bhaskar Rao, CMD, KIMS Hospitals and Dr. Milind Parikh, Designated Partner of Ushahkal Abhinav Institute of Medical Sciences LLP, owners of UAIMS Hospital. The new entity will be known as KIMS-UAIMS Hospital. In Maharashtra, as a first step, it had acquired a hospital in Nagpur by taking over Kingsway Hospital in 2022. In 2024, it started operations at its second hospital in Nashik. KIMS has already announced 300 bed multi-specialty hospital in Thane slated to commence operations in the first quarter of next financial year. This strategic partnership at Sangli with UAIMS Hospital is in line with KIMS Hospitals strategy to strengthen its presence in the state of Maharashtra.
