CANBK Stock Summary · July 2026

Management’s message was that broad-based balance-sheet growth and resilient asset quality were coming through strongly, even as treasury income and funding costs created near-term pressure. Global business rose 14.37% year over year, advances increased 17.97%, and deposits were growing around 11%–12%, all ahead of internal guidance, while net interest income crossed Rs 10,000 crore for the first time. Retail, agriculture and MSME lending remained a key priority, with RAM advances up 21.2% and retail credit up 35.9%, alongside a higher RAM mix of 59% of advances. Asset quality stayed well contained, with credit cost at 0.49% versus 0.80% guidance and improved gross and net NPAs, while management said recent SMA movements were tied to a few large accounts that had since normalized. Against that strength, treasury income fell to Rs 654 crore from Rs 1,617 crore a year earlier, partly offset by stronger PSLC income. Management also highlighted a gradual shift toward retail deposits and lower-cost funding, and said NIM guidance of 2.50% to 2.60% was reiterated, with room for improvement if conditions allow.
