The company serves the data center AI, light source, and telecommunications markets; 5G interconnect markets, such as PON and GPON, as well as edge computing for machine-to-machine communications; and sensing markets, including LIDAR, Optical Coherence Tomography for medical devices, and virtual reality systems. The company has a strategic collaboration with Lumilens Inc. for the development of wafer-level photonic integration for AI optical networks. The company was formerly known as Opel Technologies Inc. and changed its name to POET Technologies Inc. in June 2013. POET Technologies Inc. is headquartered in Toronto, Canada.
