The Employee Provident Fund (EPF) is one of the most popular saving schemes introduced by the Government of India for the welfare of salaried employees in both the private and public sectors. It aims to build a corpus of funds which is provided at the time of retirement. In EPF, both the employee and employer contribute a small amount to the Provident Fund (PF) account. In the pursuit of career growth, employees change from one job to another. While you are joining a new organisation, you must transfer your PF account from one employer to another, and the EPF Form 13 helps in this transfer.

In this article, let’s discuss the details of PF transfer Form 13 and how to fill it.

What is PF transfer Form 13?

If your old and the new employer are registered under EPFO, you need to transfer your PF funds from the old one to the new one. Every employee who’s enrolled with EPF will have a Universal Account Number (UAN) and an EPF account. This is based on the “One Employee – One EPF Account” principle. The UAN will help in identifying the EPF account. While switching jobs, you need to transfer your EPF account and funds from the old employer to the new one. This PF transfer happens through the PF transfer Form 13.
