Tickertape is a multi-platform service accessible through Android, iOS, and the Web. Tickertape Pro, our premium subscription tier, enhances user experience with additional benefits, designed to maximize your productivity and access to exclusive features and innovative tools.

Today, we’re addressing a change that specifically affects our Apple users.

Tickertape Pro Benefits

Subscribing to Tickertape Pro offers users a variety of exclusive benefits and advanced tools. These benefits are designed to bring institutional-grade investment analysis tools to your fingertips, whether you’re using Tickertape on your phone, or computer. Benefits also include an ad-free experience ensuring that our users get the most out of their subscription. You can find the entire list of pro benefits here.

Payment System and Charges

Subscribing to Tickertape Pro involves a transaction where money is moved from your account to Tickertape, which incurs certain charges. On Android and Web platforms, Tickertape allows the use of third-party payment gateways (PGs) like RazorPay, which typically charge a lower transaction fee, around 1-2%. This flexibility helps in keeping costs down for our users.

Why is Apple Different?

Apple, however, mandates the use of its own in-app purchase (IAP) system for all transactions within iOS apps. This system is notably different because it charges a 30% fee on every transaction made within the app, known colloquially as the “Apple Tax.” This term refers to the commission fee Apple imposes for the use of its App Store’s in-app payment system.

What’s Changing?

Due to the significant cost associated with Apple’s IAP, we’ve made the decision to adjust our pricing model on Apple platforms. The new pricing structure is designed to offset the Apple IAP cost. This adjustment is a common practice among app developers impacted by Apple’s higher charges.

Can you circumvent this price hike?

In short,  absolutely yes! Similar to platforms like Netflix, you simply need to log in to Tickertape through your web browser or on an Android device to purchase a Pro subscription. We have not increased the price of Tickertape Pro on the web or Android. This cross-platform functionality underscores our dedication to offering flexibility and value to all our users, regardless of their preferred platform.

In Conclusion

We strive to balance fair pricing while also maintaining our service’s quality and accessibility. We encourage our users to explore subscription options across different platforms and choose what best fits their needs, ensuring that everyone can continue to enjoy Tickertape Pro without undue financial burden. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
