PERMAGN Stock Summary · May 2026

Recovery and growth were the dominant messages as management highlighted a Q4 revenue inflection (INR 66 crore) alongside full‑year margin expansion to 17%, driven largely by new product ramps and a stronger H2. They portrayed a constructive, execution‑focused tone, prioritizing commercializing the recently commissioned Alloys furnace, scaling nascent oil & gas and relay volumes, consolidating manufacturing into a new factory and progressing phased rare‑earth magnet capacity builds, while actively assessing government incentive participation. Management acknowledged contrasting pressures: H1 weakness from lower U.S. exports and soft meter demand that compressed near‑term performance, and the reality that margins can be affected by product mix and single large orders, while relays face execution and approval timing risk after a delayed commercialization now expected in H2 FY27. Capital allocation and financing are being finalized—standalone capex guidance and a planned multi‑year contribution to the Quantum business were discussed and funding will combine debt and equity rather than relying solely on accruals. Near term, they forecast a marked Alloys volume ramp and staged revenue contributions from relays and Phase‑2 magnet work toward late FY27.

Acuit' Ratings upgrades ratings of Permanent Magnets to 'BBB/A3+'

The agency has also upgraded the company's short-term rating to 'ACUITE A3+' from 'ACUITE A3'. Acuit' Ratings & Research stated that the rating upgrade factors in the group's stable business risk profile which is expected to strengthen further with augmentation in capacity utilisations and addition of new capacities facilitating diversification in product mix. The rating also factors in group's sustained healthy financial risk profile, supported by a strong net worth base, low gearing and comfortable debt protection metrics. The rating also reflects the group's long standing operational track record and experienced management. However, the rating remains constrained by the group's working capital-intensive operations and susceptibility of profitability to volatility in raw material prices in a highly competitive and fragmented industry. Permanent Magnets (PML) is engaged in manufacturing of Alnico (aluminium, nickel and cobalt) magnets & magnetic assemblies, parts and accessories of electricity meters, gas meters and electrical vehicles.
