Indian headline indices finished positively for the fifth straight session on Thursday helped by top action in IT and bank stocks. Individually, Infosys, ICICI Bank and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) shares contributed most. While the S&P BSE Sensex settled at 81,765.86, up by 809.53 or 1%, the broader Nifty50 closed at 24,708.40, higher by 240.95 or 0.98%. Commenting on the day’s action, Rupak De, Senior Technical Analyst at LKP Securities said that Nifty has given an inverse head and shoulders pattern breakout on the daily chart, suggesting a confirmation of a bullish trend reversal. In the short term, the trend is likely to remain positive as long as it stays above 24,300, he said, recommending traders to adopt a buy-on-dips strategy in the current market.
