Drug firm Divi's Laboratories last week on Saturday reported a net profit of `470.62 crore for the quarter ended December 2020, on account of robust sales. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 359.09 crore for the corresponding period of the previous fiscal. Total income of the company on a consolidated basis stood at Rs 1,720.76 crore for the quarter under consideration & it was `1437.93 crore for the same period a year ago, it added. The company has been able to have normalised operations during the quarter said Divi's Laboratories. The company in its conference call said that it is confident of sales improving in the future. It also said that it is venturing into contract media API in a big way for high volume products. Divis Laboratories is a manufacturer of APIs (active pharmaceuticals ingredients), intermediates and registered starting materials offering high quality products to over 95 countries.

3. SBI share price rises after after CLSA retains buy; target price raised to Rs 310 per share
-The global research firm CLSA maintained a buy rating on the State Bank of India (SBI) stock which gained over 2 percent in morning trade. They noticed a deep value for a long term basis. ET Now highlights the top reasons to buy the stock. First being the asset quality of the stock. The moratorium rate of SBI was as good as Kotak Mahindra or HDFC bank. This is because of high share of government employees who are a bank account holders whose salaries have kept on coming and no issues of repayments are being faced by them. The company has best-in-class subsidiaries is one of the reasons which is an advantage for CLSA.

4. Rheinmetall to ink deal with BHEL? JV talks on with UP govt
-Rheinmetall, a 130-year old German Defence firm manufacturers are looking to enter the Indian defence market in collaboration with BHEL. The joint venture between Rheinmetall and Bhel talks on the German company's interest in investing in the Uttar Pradesh Defence corridor. 

They are already in talks with the Uttar Pradesh govt and BHEL for this collaboration. The partnership will help the German Defence Company Rheinmetall to enter the Indian market. This company has a great history in this field so great texture and know-how is expected to be shared in the workings. The manpower strength in BHEL is 34,000 and the German Company's investment will be value addition in the Defence industry.

CLSA maintains buy on SBI; German Co Rheinmetall to partner with BHEL | Top headlines 21st Aug

Top stocks in focus in the trade session today:

1. Divi's Laboratories & SBI Life Insurance: 
Nifty 50 index is set to have a new look from September 25. Divi's Laboratories & SBI Life Insurance are to be included in the Nifty 50 index while  Bharti Infratel & Zee Entertainment are to be excluded in the Nifty 50 index from September 25.  

2. GMM Pfaudler
To acquire a 54% stake in the global business of the Pfaudler group for a total consideration of $27.4 million.  The acquisition is likely to be completed in the next 4-5 month  

3. Hindalco
Signs MoU with Ultratech to deliver 1.2 million tonnes of red mud per annum to Ultratech's 14 cement plants located across seven states.
Red Mud is also known as Bauxite residue. 

4. Mastek 
Sunil Singhania's Abakkus Growth Fund picks up nearly 1% stake in MastekAs a result, their total shareholding in the company stands increased to 5.90 per cent. 

5. Indian Overseas Bank
The bank reported a profit of Rs 120 crore vs a loss of Rs 342 crore in the same period last year. The asset quality of the bank has seen a marginal improvement. The GNPA came 13.9% vs 14.78% on a quarter on a quarterly basis while the NNPA came in at  5.1% vs 5.44% QoQ
