SPML Infra bags Rs 1,438 crore water supply project under Jal Jeevan Mission

SPML Infra has been awarded a prestigious Rs 1,438 crore inclusive of GST (USD 163 Million) project in JV with JWIL Infra, (SPML leading with 51%) from Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Bharatpur, Rajasthan. The project under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) aims to significantly strengthen water supply infrastructure across the region. It involves executing comprehensive construction and operation works, including 10 years of operations & maintenance (O&M). The Jal Jeevan Mission project is designed to significantly enhance the water supply infrastructure, ensuring safe and reliable drinking water for more than 1.5 million residents of Dholpur and Saipau block. The project scope covers the construction of an intake well, Raw Water Reservoirs (RWR) of 10 and 12 million cubic meters (MCM) on the Chambal River, laying of 712 kilometres of 100 mm to 2000 mm diameter pipelines, 21 Elevated Service Reservoirs (ESR) and establishment of main Raw Water Pumping Stations at both locations. It also includes a 135 MLD Water Treatment Plant at RWR-2, a 5 MLD Water Treatment Plant at Dholpur, cluster pumping stations, CDS, VDS, rising mains, and the provision of functional household tap connections (FHTCs) for Dholpur and Saipau, along with allied works. To ensure long-term efficiency, the project carries a comprehensive 10-year Operation & Maintenance (O&M) contract. According to an exchange filing, the initiative launched by Govt. of India with the goal of making Indian cities water secure and self-reliant. The project also includes a comprehensive 10-year Operation & Maintenance (O&M) contract. The landmark project is designed to significantly strengthen Indore's water infrastructure and ensure safe, reliable drinking water access for over two million residents. The scope of the project involves the construction of a high-capacity raw water intake structure of 1,650 million litres per day (MLD) along with a raw water pumping station. It also includes the development of a 400 MLD water treatment plant (WTP), featuring advanced technologies to meet strict water quality standards. Additionally, the project entails the installation of clear water booster pumping stations, extensive pumping mains, and a 22-kilometre transmission pipeline network with diameters ranging from 1200 mm to 2337 mm. To support operations, an integrated 132/33 kV electrical substation will also be established. The engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) component of the project is scheduled for completion within 30 months from the date of contract signing, including the monsoon seasons. The comprehensive water infrastructure project is designed to significantly enhance regional water supply and management capabilities through a suite of strategically planned components. At the heart of the project is the establishment of a 160 MLD state-of-the-art Water Treatment Plant (WTP) at Kekri, engineered to meet stringent water quality standards and ensure safe potable water supply. Supporting this facility are two Clear Water Reservoirs (CWRs) with a total capacity of 37.75 MLD'comprising a 20 MLD reservoir at the Kekri WTP campus and a 17.75 MLD reservoir at the Intermediate Pumping Station (IPS) in Nasirabad. These reservoirs will play a critical role in maintaining a steady and reliable distribution system. To ensure efficient water conveyance, the project includes the laying and commissioning of a 58.675-kilometre Mild Steel (MS) pipeline, forming a Rising Main from the WTP in Kekri to the IPS in Nasirabad. This transmission network has been designed for resilience and long-term performance. A major highlight of the project is the integration of advanced technology, including the installation of high-capacity pumping systems, associated electrical and mechanical equipment, instrumentation, and a centralized SCADA system at the Kekri pump house. These systems will facilitate automated, real-time monitoring and operational control for improved efficiency and reduced downtime. The project also addresses infrastructure development, which includes the demolition of outdated structures and the construction of new office buildings and J-2 residential quarters, enhancing both operational and administrative capabilities on-site. To ensure sustained performance, the entire scheme will be backed by a comprehensive 10-year Operation and Maintenance (O&M) contract, guaranteeing long-term reliability and optimized functionality.
