SCI Stock Summary · May 2026

Management framed the call as a year of robust profitability, highlighting a record consolidated profit before tax of INR 1,423 crore and consolidated net profit of INR 1,353 crore. They emphasized disciplined, cash‑aware growth: preserving liquidity, pursuing a near‑term fleet expansion in FY26–FY27 through a mix of second‑hand buys and Indian newbuilds, and prioritizing green technology and gas‑transport diversification, including recent VLGC inductions and a methanol dual‑fuel platform‑supply vessel pilot. At the same time management acknowledged clear tensions — an unusually strong but volatile tanker market driven by Middle East disruptions produced high freight rates alongside constrained cargo flows and stranded voyage delays that will shift some revenue into the next fiscal/early Q1, while the liner franchise saw revenue and profit contraction. Procurement will remain project‑by‑project with a de facto 10–12% IRR hurdle and awards may be delayed to avoid peak‑cycle pricing. Contract design, including index‑linked charter terms with fuel pass‑throughs and floors/ceilings, plus stated government support, underpin near‑term risk mitigation and execution plans.
