M&M to raise prices of SUV and CV range as input price pressures mount

Mahindra & Mahindra announced that the scheme of amalgamation and arrangement of Fifth Gear Ventures, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mahindra First Choice Wheels (FGVL / transferor company) with Mahindra First Choice Wheels (MFCWL / Transferee Company), a wholly owned subsidiary of Mahindra Holdings (MHL), and their respective shareholders has been approved by the Mumbai Bench of the National Company Law Tribuna1 on 11 February 2025. On a month-on-month basis, Mahindra & Mahindra's (M&M) total auto sales slipped 2.02% in February 2025 compared to 85,432 units sold in January 2024. In the utility vehicles segment, the company sold 50,420 vehicles in the domestic market, registering a growth of 19% YoY and overall, 52,386 vehicles, including exports. The company sold 1,381 units of commercial vehicles (LCV+MHCV) in February 2025, up 23% from 1,125 units sold in February 2024. Three-wheelers (including electric 3Ws) sales grew 4% YoY to 6,395 units in February 2025. Total exports for the month stood at 3,061 vehicles, registering a growth of 99% on YoY basis. Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M, 'In February, we clocked SUV sales of 50,420, a growth of 19% and 83,702 total vehicles, a growth of 15%. This strong performance is a result of a continued positive momentum for our SUV portfolio.' Further, the company's Farm Equipment Sector (FES) announced that its total tractor sales (domestic + exports) during February 2025 were at 25,527 units, up 18% from 21,672 units in February 2024. Domestic tractor sales grew by 19% to 23,880 units in February 2025, compared to 20,121 units sold in February 2024. Tractor exports rose 6% to 1,647 units in February 2025, compared to 1,551 units during the same period last year. Hemant Sikka, President, Farm Equipment Sector, Mahindra & Mahindra, said, 'We have sold 23,880 tractors in the domestic market during February 2025, a growth of 19% over last year. Domestic sales in February 2025 were at 23880 units, as against 20121 units during February 2024. Mahindra & Mahindra announced that its overall auto sales for the month of February 2025 stood at 83702 vehicles, a growth of 15%, including exports. M&M slumps on plans to invest in rights issue of listed subsidiaries

Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M)'s subsidiaries, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd (MMFSL) and Mahindra Lifespace Developers Ltd (MLDL), have received board approval to raise funds through rights issues. This means existing shareholders will have the opportunity to buy additional shares in proportion to their current holdings. ' MMFSL and MLDL, both part of the Mahindra Group, have received approvals from their boards to raise funds through rights issues. MMFSL plans to raise up to Rs 3,000 crore, while MLDL will target up to Rs 1,500 crore. M&M, as the parent company, has pledged to participate fully in both rights issues by subscribing to its full entitlement. M&M is also willing to purchase additional shares beyond its entitlement, potentially covering any shares that are not taken up by other investors, up to the total issue size. M&M said its board has delegated the authority to certain Principal Officers of the Company inter alia to take a final decision with respect to the Investment in the aforesaid Rights Issue(s) upon receipt of intimation from MMFSL and MLDL regarding the terms and conditions of the respective Rights Issue(s) including the Issue Price. M&M holds 51.15% in MLDL, a real estate developer, and 52.16% in MMFSL, a leading non-banking finance company.
