For total withdrawal, there are two conditions. You need to fulfil either one of them to avail complete withdrawal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Retirement:<\/strong> You are eligible to withdraw this fund at the age of 58 yrs. After retirement, the amount is tax-free.<\/li><li><strong>Unemployed:<\/strong> If you have been unemployed for more than 60 days, you can withdraw your entire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tickertape.in\/blog\/epf-balance\/\">EPF balance<\/a>. You can withdraw 75% of the balance in the first month of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tickertape.in\/blog\/unemployment-the-deadly-cost-of-covid-19\/\">unemployment<\/a> and the remaining balance of 25% after the second month of unemployment.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Partial withdrawal before the service of 5 yrs is taxable. Further, you can withdraw the EPF only under specified conditions. They are Form 10C, Form 19, and Form 31.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Form-10C\"><\/span><strong>Form 10C<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tickertape.in\/blog\/epf-form-10c-eligibility-benefits-how-to-fill-attestation-documents-and-more\/\">Form 10C<\/a> is used to claim withdrawal benefits of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tickertape.in\/blog\/difference-between-epf-and-eps-features-and-calculation\/\">Employee Pension Scheme<\/a> (EPS) and to retain your membership with the EPF. You can use this form when changing jobs and transferring\/withdrawing your PF balance. You can submit the form online through the EPFO portal or can download it from <a href=\"https:\/\/epfindia.gov.in\/site_docs\/PDFs\/Downloads_PDFs\/Form10C.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">here<\/a> for offline application.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Form-19\"><\/span><strong>Form 19<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>EPF Form 19 is used for the final settlement of your accumulated EPF funds. If you have retired or quit your job, then you can apply for settlement with this form. In both cases, the form is filled out after two months of quitting the job. You can submit this form through the online procedure or download it from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epfindia.gov.in\/site_docs\/PDFs\/Downloads_PDFs\/UAN-Based_Form19.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">here<\/a> and apply offline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Form-31\"><\/span><strong>Form 31<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.tickertape.in\/blog\/epf-form-31-meaning-eligibility-submitting-procedure-documents-faqs\/\">Form 31<\/a> is used to make a partial or advance withdrawal from your EPF account. The permissible cases for Form 31 are education, wedding, house repair, medical treatment, construction\/purchase of a house, unemployment, and more. You can submit this form either online through the EPFO portal or offline. You can download it from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epfindia.gov.in\/site_docs\/PDFs\/Downloads_PDFs\/Form31.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Procedure-for-EPF-withdrawal\"><\/span><strong>Procedure for EPF withdrawal&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The EPF can be withdrawn in two ways:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Physical-application-offline\"><\/span><strong>Physical application (offline)<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>To withdraw your EPF offline, download either the Composite Claim Form (Aadhaar) or Composite Claim Form (Non-Aadhaar) based on your preference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Composite Claim Form (Aadhaar):<\/strong> As the name suggests, you use this form when the information about your Aadhaar card is seeded on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tickertape.in\/blog\/uan-universal-account-number\/\">Universal Account Number<\/a> (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tickertape.in\/blog\/uan-universal-account-number\/\">UAN<\/a>) portal. It also requires your UAN to be active. You can submit this form to the respective jurisdictional EPFO office without the employer&#8217;s attestation.<\/li><li><strong>Composite Claim Form (Non-Aadhaar): <\/strong>You use this form when your Aadhaar is not linked with the UAN portal. In this case, you need to submit the form with the attestation of your employer to the respective jurisdictional EPFO office.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Online-application\"><\/span><strong>Online application<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The EPFO offers an online withdrawal facility. It has made the process hassle-free and less time-consuming. You need to meet the following conditions to proceed with the online withdrawal:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>The UAN should be active and linked with your active mobile number.<\/li><li>The UAN should be linked with your KYC details, i.e. Aadhaar, PAN, bank details, etc.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>After fulfilling the above conditions, you do not need the employer&#8217;s attestation for withdrawal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Documents-required-for-EPF-withdrawal\"><\/span><strong>Documents required for EPF withdrawal<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The following documents are required when you are applying for PF withdrawal:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Bank account statement in policyholder\u2019s name<\/li><li>Two revenue stamps and a Composite Claim Form in case of offline application<\/li><li>Identity proof<\/li><li>Address proof<\/li><li>One blank and cancelled cheque<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you withdraw your PF before 5 yrs of continuous service, you are liable to pay tax on the withdrawal forms. It is to prove a detailed breakup of the amount deposited in your PF account every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Online-EPF-withdrawal-process\"><\/span><strong>Online EPF withdrawal process<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To apply for PF withdrawal online, you must make sure your UAN is active and linked with your KYC (Aadhaar, bank account, and PAN). If you meet these conditions, follow the below-mentioned steps to withdraw your PF balance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 1:<\/strong> Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tickertape.in\/blog\/uan-member-portal\/\">UAN Member Portal<\/a>. Sign in using your UAN, password, and captcha.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 2: <\/strong>Click on the \u2018Online Services\u2019 tab and select \u2018Claim (Form-31, 19, 10C &amp; 10D).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 3:<\/strong> The next screen displays all your details (basic details, KYC information, and other service information). It asks for the last 4 digits of your bank account number. Enter it and click on \u2018Verify\u2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 4:<\/strong> Click on \u2018Yes\u2019 to sign the undertaking certificate. Then, click on the \u2018Proceed for Online Claim\u2019 option.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 5: <\/strong>In the claim form, under the section \u2018I Want To Apply For\u2019 and select the claim you require, i.e. full EPF settlement, EPF partial withdrawal or pension withdrawal. A member will not be shown options that they are ineligible for. To give you an instance, if you are ineligible for pension withdrawal service, you will not see that option in the menu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 6: <\/strong>Select \u2018PF Advance (Form 31)\u2019 to withdraw your PF funds. Submit the purpose of the advance, the amount required, and the employee\u2019s address.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Step 7: <\/strong>Finally, submit your application. You may be required to submit scanned copies of your documents for the purpose for which you have filled the form.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You receive the requested amount in your bank account after the approval of your application by your employer. It typically takes 15-20 days for the balance to get credited to your bank account. However, in 2021, the government allowed the Ministry of Labour and Employment to reduce the claim settlement cycle to 3 days as against the previous requirement of settling the claims within 20 days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are withdrawing the fund before the completion of 5 yrs of service and your total income is under the threshold limit of Rs. 2.5 lakh, you can submit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tickertape.in\/blog\/form-15g-key-information\/#For-EPF-withdrawals\">Form 15G<\/a> to avoid the tax deductions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Check-PF-withdrawal-status\"><\/span><strong>Check PF withdrawal status<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>To check your application status, you must log in to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tickertape.in\/blog\/uan-member-portal\/\">UAN Member Portal<\/a>. Then, go to the \u2018Online Services\u2019 section and select the \u2018Track Claim Status\u2019 option. You do not need to put a reference to check your status. It will be displayed on the screen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"To-conclude\"><\/span><strong>To conclude<\/strong><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>EPF offers retirement benefits. However, you can withdraw it partially in certain situations. You can fill out the application for withdrawal from the EPFO portal or submit it offline. Form 10C, Form 19, and Form 31 are available for transferring\/withdrawing your PF balance, final settlement of your accumulated EPF funds, and a partial or advance withdrawal from your EPF account, respectively.
