The stock has dipped 19% last year and is the second worst-performing scrip on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tickertape.in\/indices\/nifty-index-.NSEI?utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=article\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Nifty 50<\/a>, only after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tickertape.in\/stocks\/hero-motocorp-HROM?&amp;utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=article\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Hero MotoCorp<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Today, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tickertape.in\/stocks\/bajaj-finance-BJFN?checklist=basic&amp;utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=article\">Bajaj Finance<\/a> briefly overtook Housing Development Finance Corporation (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.tickertape.in\/stocks\/housing-development-finance-corporation-HDFC?checklist=basic&amp;utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=article\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HDFC<\/a>) as India&#8217;s biggest non-banking finance company (NBFC) based on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tickertape.in\/blog\/market-capitalization\/\">market capitalisation<\/a>. Bajaj Finance\u2019s market cap touched Rs 4,17, 385 cr to beat HDFC\u2019s Rs 4,17,076 cr.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Analysts have suggested that HDFC could continue to be under pressure on margins because of the increasing competition in the housing finance segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, CLSA India has maintained its \u2018outperform\u2019 rating on the stock, expecting the NBFC to benefit from a hike in domestic interest rates and undemanding valuations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The underperformance of its listed subsidiaries has also weighed heavily on HDFC. All of them have given negative returns in the last 12 mth. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tickertape.in\/stocks\/hdfc-bank-HDBK?&amp;utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=article\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HDFC Bank<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tickertape.in\/stocks\/hdfc-asset-management-company-HDFA?checklist=basic&amp;utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=article\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HDFC Asset Management Company<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tickertape.in\/stocks\/hdfc-life-insurance-company-HDFL?&amp;utm_source=blog&amp;utm_medium=article\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HDFC Life Insurance<\/a> have decreased 7-27% in the previous year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>However, Bajaj Finance\u2019s pivot from traditional lending to fintech solutions has received optimism from both investors and analysts.
