He earned his first big profit back in 1986. He invested in 5,000 shares of Tata Tea, which, at that time, was trading at the price of Rs 43 per share. In 3 months, the share price rose to Rs. 143, giving him a profit of Rs. 5,00,000. Over the next 3 yrs, he earned a profit of over Rs. 20 lakh by trading in the stock market.
